“We have been fortunate to work with several strategic investors, yet no other investor gave better feedback or direction on how to fine tune our products for the real world than Ryan.”
“You evaluate great investors by how they react when things go badly. We lost 70% of clients in COVID, and one of the key reasons we were able to rebuild to growth and a successful exit is through the trusted advisory, strategic navigation and heartfelt support of David and the Alpaca team.”
“Alpaca has exceeded all my expectations as our lead investor. Aubrie acts as a real partner and has been able to do things outside of what a typical investor does. She helps with our business development, pokes holes in our product and documentation and challenges us in ways that allow us to grow.”
“Daniel has been a true mentor, confidant and cheerleader who genuinely cares about Acelab’s success. His strategic insights and hands-on involvement have made him a pivotal partner in our journey.”

Ryan Freedman is an entrepreneur turned investor on a never-ending journey to bring efficiency and innovation to the real world. Prior to Alpaca, Ryan founded Corigin, a real estate investment firm with $600 million AUM. He led this firm with a lens towards innovation and has been at the forefront of analyzing and adopting real estate technology to enhance operations and investment decisions. To that end, Corigin was an early pioneer of the co-living concept, infusing experience and community into multi-family long before others thought to. In 2008, Ryan co-founded Coral Capital, a tech-enabled commercial finance operation that has provided over 1.5 billion in financing to small businesses. His obsession with technology and efficiency informed his natural progression from a real estate executive to a venture capitalist and PropTech investor.

Aubrie brings experience from both sides of the New York City startup ecosystem as both an operator and investor. Most recently, she built and sold her cult-favorite apparel and gifting brand, Bow & Drape. Aubrie drove the omni-channel brand to profitability by retailing online DTC and in over 350 Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s and Hudson’s Bay stores. Toward the end of her Bow & Drape journey, she spent time leading investments out of XFactor Ventures, an early stage fund of female operators backing startups with at least one female founder. There, Aubrie led investments in companies like Maude, Shiru, Pod Foods, and Tiny Organics. Prior to the above, she started her career at Fidelity Investments in the company’s internal strategy group and was a Harvard ’08 graduate.

Daniel’s interest in PropTech derives from his family roots in real estate. Between his immediate family, extended family, and in-laws, he’s seen the pain points and opportunities from many major stakeholder perspectives—builders, developers, brokers, landlords, owners, and investors. His thesis is that Real Estate is the largest asset class in the world, but the most antiquated industry. While funding in the space has picked up over the last few years, he believes we’re still in the very early innings. Daniel began his career at J.P. Morgan’s Private Bank where he built a book of business focused on Silicon Alley Entrepreneurs and Investors. Later, he tried his hand at entrepreneurship by co-founding two companies – one in Wealth Tech (Instrument Capital) and the other in Construction Tech (Soil Connect). He received his MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
